With the Argyle home shirt yet to be revealed, we created an overview of our favourite shirts since the start of the century. With tangy orange shirts to lime green polka dot designs, Argyle shirts have had it all. But which is the best of a good bunch?
5 - 10/11 Home Shirt
The 2010/11 season held very few good memories - a league one relegation having previously been in the Championship the season before, things were not looking positive for the Greens. The only shining light, however, was the home kit. A rare Adidas sponsorship, the kit looked ahead of its time, with a modern pattern and contrasting stripes. The only shame was the disastrous red Gingsters logo consuming the shirt. And the relegation of course.
4 - 08/09 Away Shirt
Orange. The most bizarre colour for a team with no relation to it, yet it seemed to still capture the essence of Argyle. In fact, nowadays Argyle has seemed to fully scrap these 'Tropical' colours such as the 15/16 purple away kit and 16/17 burgundy third shirt. A shame really.
3 - 21/22 Third Shirt
An exciting season, an exciting kit. The zig-zagged lime stripes are only a subtle touch, yet creates such an explosive aesthetic. Panutche Camara modelling the shirt was the cherry on top. Apart from when he left us.
2 - 22/23 Home Shirt
A kit that will go down in history. The kit to get us promoted. The kit that got us to a cup final. The kit to win us the title. It has it all really. With a bespoke design from Puma, consisting of the 'Plymouth Castle' pattern, and the limited charity sponsor, a better season could not have been picked. The white sleeves as well. Perfection.
1 - 17/18 Away Shirt
When I see this shirt, Graham Carey comes to mind. A stunning player to watch, encapsulated in this unique masterclass of a kit. An era where Argyle seemed to be getting back to their best. The lime colouring with the tiny black dots creates a shirt like no other. Plus the Gingsters logo is seen to be fixed. Finally.
